Furniture designer Samuel Wilkinson designs the new Parallel series which is full of minimal furniture pieces that are made from thin strips of solid teak wood materials. He had noticed the teak offcuts that had gone to waste after larger pieces are applied to other projects.
This creates a more sustainable solution and the capsule is made up of a bench, chair, and table. To make it possible, Wilkinson taps the help of Deesaway, a local wood furniture manufacturer that is based outside of Bangkok. Every slat of teak wood is thin but it is technically constructed to ensure that it is strong with cross braces that rest underneath or within the furniture pieces to uphold the structure.
