Salvaged Timber Furniture Capsule

Gini Moynier Introduces the Formwork Collection of Furniture

Swiss design studio Gini Moynier unveils the Formwork collection comprised of minimalist furniture. It is defined by the use of reclaimed spruce and oak collected from the construction industry. The lighter spruce timber visually contrasts with the darker oak in the capsule. It is comprised of a chair, a side table, and a shelf mounted onto the wall. The pieces are all unified by the geometric structure and rectilinear features.

The design duo share, "The Formwork collection is made from solid wood, which allows repairing by skilled craftsmen unlike industrial furniture, which often relies on technical and specific parts. This characteristic significantly prolongs the lifespan of the pieces, allowing them to endure for multiple generations like traditional vernacular wooden furniture."
