Gamified Pop-Up Eateries

The 'Meal of Fortune' Pop-Up is Part Restaurant and Part Arcade

'Meal of Fortune' is unique dining experience that was recently held by 'Mouth Arcade' and 'Theory Kitchen.' While many restaurants have been experimenting with elements of gamification, this pop-up eatery took things to the next level by turning the entire restaurant into an arcade.

Meal of Fortune was held in January of this year at the Manhattan-based gallery and video-game collective 'Babycastles.' The interactive event consisted of a four-course meal turned into digital and analog games. Some of these edible games involved of dice made from pâte de fruit, while others involved bowling for seasoning-filled shakers with 3D-printed rubber balls. With an emphasis on personalization and interactive play, the event was designed to demonstrate how reimagining the restaurant experience as a full-fledged arcade could make diners appreciate how they eat their food.
