Lucas Bols recently launched a limited-edition Bols Genever 100% Malt Spirit that it is calling "genever in its purest form."
The spirit is said to have notes that are both grainy and grassy, as well as others that are sweet from fruit and honey. This comes from the spirit being made from an age-old recipe that involves fermenting ingredients like corn, rye and wheat with juniper berries. As a limited-edition spirit, the Bols Genever is bottled by hand in Amsterdam's Lucas Bols Distillery and is presented to consumers in a precious clay jar.
As much as many consumers are looking to experiment with the alcohol products that are familiar to them, they are also interested in rediscovering traditional and forgotten recipes that have been reinvented with the modern drinker in mind.
