The Los Austrias Chemist is a modern pharmacy located in Madrid, Spain. Forgoing the futuristic aesthetic of other newly designed pharmacies such as Lordelo and Placebo, this store embraces more engaging and approachable aesthetics in the form of colorful shelving, psychedelic flooring and bright walls.
Designed by Spanish interiors studio Stone Designs, the main attraction of the Los Austrias Chemist are the vibrant wireframe shelving units holding the drugs. Like two dimensional sketches, they have a geometric appeal that is a recurring theme in the design industry of late. Not to mention that the coloring shifts from light orange to darker red for an ombre finish. Stone Designs states, "We love to use colour as a tool that lets people feel the atmosphere that we want to show them, turning the experience of buying medicine into a social event."
