The sushi-grade vegan tuna is launching through Current Foods' online shop, which will also include alternative seafood products in the form of smoked salmon and seasonal products.

Kuleana Tuna, is made from a mix of ingredients like algae, radish, bamboo and potato, and it boasts a similar nutritional profile to traditional tuna by being a source of iron, omega-3 and Vitamin B12. The innovative tuna alternative can be found in poké cubes and fillets, and the ready-to-eat products have seven days of shelf life in the fridge and a year in the freezer.
