LGBT Kissing Marathons

Following a Homophobic Occurrence, a Couple Hosted a Statement-Making Event

Thomas Rees and Joshua Bradwell were holding hands and shopping in a UK grocery store when they were approached by a security guard who told them their actions were making another patron uncomfortable -- prompting Michael Segalov to later host a kissing marathon in protest.

The event saw a huge turn-out, with couples gathering to show their support of Thomas Rees and Joshua Bradwell. The kissing marathon not only encouraged those in attendance to show their affection for one another in solidarity, but also gave them the chance to celebrate beforehand. This occurred in the form of pre-drinking, dancing to disco music outside and a countdown from a drag queen by the name of Rodent Decay.

Representatives of the grocery store responded by saying "It’s been a really great event and an important opportunity for the community to show their support" and "We do our best to make sure everyone feels welcome in our stores but occasionally we make mistakes. We are working hard to make sure lessons are learnt."
