The Kinzo is a collapsible flat-pack stool created by students Jack Rathod, Pingla More, Kuldeepsingh Yadav and Gayathri Rakesh for the Agrikraft 2026 furniture design competition. Inspired by origami, the stool transforms from a flat profile into a stable seat through a single twisting motion without requiring tools or assembly. Its X-shaped structural geometry locks under load to improve stability, while brass hinges connect the folding panels and integrated cut-outs provide a comfortable carrying grip.
The stool is manufactured from Craste boards made from agricultural residues and produced without formaldehyde-based adhesives. The design was developed through a series of paper prototypes before progressing to full-scale testing to refine its folding mechanism and structural performance. When folded, the stool stores in narrow spaces for transport or compact living environments.
