Katana Kitten Brings Japanese Bar Food to Greenwich Village in Manhattan

When people think of Japanese restaurants they generally picture sushi or ramen, but Katana Kitten is hoping to change the perception of Japanese eateries with its highball cocktails and craft sandwiches. Located in Manhattan's iconic Greenwich Village, this Japanese party bar hopes to bring a playful vibe to the Greenwich Village bar scene.
The bar at Katana Kitten is helmed by Masahiro Urushido, who divides the cocktail menu into three sections. Of the three sections, the "signature" offerings are some of the most interesting and feature cocktails such as an Amaretto Sour with salted plum and red shisho, and a Dark ‘n’ Stormy variation called the Bright ‘n’ Sunny.
The food menu was crafted by Nick Sorrentino and is split between appetizers, skewers and "sandos." The sandwich section is perhaps the most interesting and prominently features a Fra’Mani mortadella katsu sandwich and a teriyaki burger with pickled pineapple.
