Japanese-Themed Bodega Meals

The Bessou Snack Shop Prepares Japanese Classics Like a NYC Bodega

This holiday season, Bessou and Kayanoya bring Japanese comfort food to Bryant Park with the limited-time Bessou Snack Shop, open through January 4, 2026, at Booth N57. Inspired by NYC bodega culture and designed by Nancy Pappas, the pop-up offers Japanese twists on corner-store favorites, featuring butter-grilled Yaki Onigiris, Kayanoya Kombu Dashi Miso Soups, Pom Pom Popcorn, and Vesta Hot Chocolate, all available in the same way your local convenience store is.

Menu highlights include fully loaded Yaki Onigiris in flavors like Bacon Egg & Cheese and Miso Salmon, glazed Yaki Onigiris, and mushroom or leek & wakame miso soups. Guests can also purchase Kayanoya products on-site, bringing a festive, umami-packed taste of Japan to New York’s holiday scene.
