The Karma app is a new platform that's attempting to combat food waste in grocery stores and supermarkets by selling food that would have otherwise been thrown out at a discounted rate.
The Karma app was launched in Stockholm, but has recently expanded to other major cities, including London, England. Through this platform, hungry individuals can browse through cheap eats and grocery stores can get rid of surplus food, as appose to contributing to the $25 billion of wasted food that gets thrown out annually. This unique approach to online grocery shopping is as quick and convenient as similar services, but serves as a more cost-effective and environmentally friendly means of stocking up one's fridge.
