The James Powers Airplane series features a collection of paintings from the Irish-born artist that heavily rely on airports and airplanes as a starting point of wider artistic concepts.
The James Powers Airplane painting series seeks to create work that deftly displays the duality of representation and abstraction. James Powers' resume reads like that of an artist who has been working professionally for a decade, which betrays the fact that he's only 25. In his short career, James Powers has had his work exhibited or displayed in the Harvard Advocate, Vanity Fair Online, and National Geographic.
Powers just completed a MFA in Studio Painting and Drawing at the University of Chicago and is currently working on his photography, in addition to painting and illustration.
