Often times, people just want to avoid those who are handing out flyers, but an unusual tactic by a Chinese advertiser was quite successful at getting people to come closer rather than run away.
Instead of hiring a woman to stand on the street and give out pamphlets as you'd expect, a woman was set up inside of a dramatic blossom-like structure that perilously towered over the sidewalk at nearly 10' high. Although it seems like the woman is able to bend the contraption slightly, all she really has to do is throw leaflets in the direction of people passing by. Because it's so out of the ordinary, people are more likely to wander closer to find out just how she stays up there, as well as what she's advertising.
