Now that more than just vegans and vegetarians are looking for plant-based burgers, a growing number of products are being created to appeal to flexitarians with references to traditional barbecue rituals, as seen in Sol Cuisine's new grillable veggie burger. The vegan-friendly 'Extreme Griller' is a plant-based patty that is made with a base of soy protein and a superfood blend of fava bean protein, maca powder, lucuma powder and mesquite powder. The high-fiber plant-based burger is packed with 10 grams of protein and boasts a color and texture that resembles a classic beef burger patty.
Alongside its new Extreme Griller, Sol Cuisine also debuted other new flavors like Portobello Quinoa and Sunflower Beet. All of these new products are sold in dark boxes that resemble premium beef patty packages more than the standard vegetarian options with green color schemes.
