Sculpture artist Mattia Mognetti has released a new series of photography entitled 'Graveyard People' depicting macabre graveyard photos of monumental statues.

Each photo shows a graveyard sculpture glowing eerily white against a pitch black background. The statues are all crumbling and decaying, causing an eerie feeling of fading art. Several statues create a religious atmosphere, posing Madonna-like or looking up to the sky reverentially. Combined with their crumbling, forgotten status, these statues become morbid relics of a most devout time.

With this graveyard photography Mattia Mognetti has created a captivating series that is sure to shock and surprise every viewer. Not only do these statues appear long forgotten but their crumbling appearance mirrors the death which they represent. Their empty expressions and imperfect appearance makes for a spookily fantastic photo collection.
