Farm-to-table eating is undergoing a huge transformation with companies like GoGo Chicken increasing consumer transparency with the help of blockchain technology.
The company outfits its animals with GPS trackers, and once purchased, consumers are able to track their animal's movements, and view its profile and photos. The chickens used for this system are free-range, offering the buyer peace of mind to know the animal has plenty of space to roam freely. Consumers are even able to see what food the chicken has been eating. What's most impressive, is that this system utilizes facial recognition technology that enables the consumer to view its chicken at any time using their smartphones.
The chickens involved in this program live on the free range farm for four to six months.
