The recent Food's Future Summit saw numerous innovations, but a partnership between JUST and Brinc is resulting in the creation of the Food Technology Accelerator Program, which aims to contribute to a more sustainable global food program by eliminating the use of animals in the meat industry.
This program tasked over 10 startups with developing 'Clean-meat' which is essentially a meat-free alternative that tastes like the real thing. The short-term goal of this program is to debut a "KFC-style chicken nugget" that's made from a plant-based source in restaurants by the end of the year. The long-term goal is to make sustainable eating more accessible world-wide in an effort to better ourselves and the environment.
