Valmont Cosmetics is setting itself apart as the first-ever cosmetics company to make use of Thinfilm’s near field communications (NFC) technology tags in its cosmetic packages.
For its anti-aging product collection, Valmont Cosmetics created an innovative package design that can be tapped with a consumer's smartphone to call up information about the brand, the product's ingredients, application instructions, as well as complementary products. As a result of using Thinfilm's SpeedTap tags in its product packaging, each of which has its own unique ID, Valmont Cosmetics is able to connect with consumers directly to inquire about their individual needs and provide tailored advice.
Smart packaging is now being introduced for a range of food and beverage products, but Valmont Cosmetics and Thinfilm are now setting a precedent for the possibilities of NFC-integrated technology across multiple industries.
