Adding a new spin to the traditional maternity photo shoot, artist Christophe Guinet decorated his pregnant partner’s body with flowers to produce whimsical, nature-inspired images. For this personal project, Guinet sought to capture the bond between love and nature by creating astonishing vegetable and body compositions amidst beautiful landscapes. The series named 'Léon,' after his newborn son, closely portrays their lives and surroundings in an intimate and affectionate way. His goal was to showcase the gentleness and patience of motherhood through a connection to natural elements.
Popularly known as Monsieur Plant, the french artist is famous for creating thought-provoking nature inspired pieces such as a batman costume completely made out of bark, and a collection of plant-based Nike shoes. A critic of consumerism, Christophe Guinet blends plants and man-made materials across his work to evoke the beauty and omnipresence of mother nature.
