The BMW Digital Charging Service Only Charges When Rates are Low

Aiming to help make its electric vehicles more efficient when it comes to charging, the BMW Digital Charging Service works by intelligently monitoring electricity rates for the specific region the station is based in. This will allow the unit to only charge when the rates are low in order to save the driver money and decrease the electrical load on the grid.

The BMW Digital Charging Service is also being used as a way to help identify when power is being sourced from renewable sources. If a user is charging their vehicle via their own solar panel system, the service will keep an eye on the weather forecast in order to create a charging plan that suits.
