Balanced EV Charging Systems

Electrify America Announced Plans to Standardize its EV Chargers

Electrify America announced a new plan to redesign its charging stations to make them more accessible, naming this new system the 'Balanced Charging' system. With this system, Electrify America is hoping to standardize EV charging, making the experience uniform across a number of different charging locations. This does not only include the charging process itself, but also the payment process.

Currently, it can be difficult to know which EV chargers are suited for your vehicle, as many EVs charge with different voltage and wattage chargers, resulting in slower charging than intended in many situations. With Balanced Charging, Electrify America will use labels such as 'CCS,' 'CHAdeMO,' 'Ultra-Fast,' and 'Hyper Fast.' These labels should be familiar to gas-powered car owners, as these drivers are used to categories such as Petrol, Diesel, and more.

Lastly, Electrify America will simplify the payment process, providing clear and easy-to-understand information on the cost of charging and the available payment methods.
