Bug Out Bar is introducing its flagship protein bar in the form of a decadent chocolate brownie bar that's fueled by crickets as a sustainable protein source. The bar made with edible insects is incredibly nutritionally dense—as Bug Out Bar outlines, "pound for pound, cricket powder contains all nine essential amino acids, two times the protein of beef, more omega-3 fatty acids and six times the B12 of wild salmon and contains anti-inflammatory probiotic fiber for gut health." Additionally, crickets are a much more sustainable source of protein than animals, as they require less land, water and other resources to cultivate.
Within North America, the new chocolate-flavored protein bar is one of the products that's helping to normalize edible insects as a sustainable source of protein and nutrients.
