At this year's Cibus, an international food exhibition celebrating authentic, innovative Italian food and beverages, Acetaia Terra del Tuono's 'Ballsamic' was showcased as a unique new way for balsamic vinegar to be added to dishes.
True to its name, the unconventional balsamic vinegar product takes the form of a solid sphere that can be grated, sliced or even minced just like a block of cheese. The product is stable at room temperature and can be used to enhance the flavor of everything from classic pasta meals and meat to vegetables and sweet desserts.
A number of unique condiments, sauces and spreads are emerging in the form of foams, sprays and slices that offer convenient and novel ways for consumers to add flavor to familiar dishes.
