Nintendo's new 3DS XL Super NES Edition hopes to entice fans of the original Super NES by incorporating its design in its modern handheld gaming console. Sporting the iconic gray and purple color scheme, the 3DS XL Super NES Edition will be instantly recognizable to any Nintendo fan who grew up with classic Nintendo consoles. Initially launched exclusively in Europe, this new release in the US comes through a partnership with Amazon.

The resemblance to the classic console is even echoed in the packaging of the 3DS XL Super NES Edition, which closely resembles the original packaging used for the Super NES. In additions to its retro design, the redesigned handheld console comes with a download code for an original copy of Super Mario Kart available on the modern device.
