Adidas is probably the first brand that comes to mind when people think of German sportswear and footwear manufacturers, but these Puma footwear offerings show that Adidas isn't the only German footwear brand with some game. Headquartered a stone's throw away from Adidas in Herzogenaurach, Germany, Puma has carved out a strong name for itself in the sports footwear space.
In few areas is Puma's presence felt as strongly as in the soccer world, where the brand currently sponsors a number of star players including Sergio Aguero, Mario Balotelli and Marco Reus. Watchers of the World Cup will recall seeing several Puma-sponsored players wear eye-catching asymmetrically colored pink and blue boots, a bold and successful design gamble.
Puma footwear also includes streetwear innovations however, with many having arisen out of collaborations with well-known designers.
