Believe it or not, toys represent an elemental aspect of the human social experience as we understand it, so under that lens, the June 2018 toy trends are among the most important in existence. Some of the oldest archaeological items that have been unearthed are believed to be toys, and indeed many species of great apes -- believed to be humanity's closest living relatives -- have been observed to fashion toys for their young. Toys thus have a crucial role in the development of children's conception of the world.
While modern technology has done a lot to change the toys that kids today play with, it's interesting to note that so much has stayed the same as well. One of the aforementioned archaeological finds was a small doll, and today dolls remain a favored toy for most children.
