Top watch trends this year ranged from ultra-modern styles to timepieces inspired by steampunk design.

On the technologically advanced side, timepieces that doubled as payment systems, music players and even search engines came about this year, proving that time tellers could be even more functional than they already are. These designs also tended to be of the more futuristically designed watches on the market, and appropriately so. Colorful, almost childish watches were also quite popular this year, adding some fun flair to a very traditional accessory that's typically understood to be a more adult or professional part of one's wardrobe.
