The new TYPE 8 Daniel Engelberg merges painting with motion by translating his geometric depth studies and concentric gradient circles into an animated watch face. Created with Belgian watchmaker Ressence, the artist’s Inside Out series becomes two limited edition color-rich watches: DE1 in warm pink and DE2 in vivid turquoise. Each dial is laser-engraved from Grade 5 titanium, capturing the illusion of depth while maintaining sharp contrast. Powered by Ressence’s orbital convex system, the dial discs rotate continuously, turning the act of checking time into a kinetic artwork.
Built on a 42.9 millimeter case, each model includes a matching strap with an optional leather alternative for more formal settings. The project reflects Ressence’s art-in-motion philosophy while aligning with Engelberg’s signature style. The result is a dynamic collaboration where aesthetic precision and technical innovation meet, transforming a functional object into a wearable canvas of time.
