The top 2018 wedding trends introduced a number of bridal innovations, including everything from casual occasion dresses and bridal sneakers to convenient ways for couples to try out engagement rings with at-home services and augmented reality apps.

The 2018 royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle greatly impacted the wedding industry this year, with many brands releasing fun commemorative products and fashion designers releasing entire bridal collections inspired by the royal wedding dress.

In a push for equality and to challenge established traditions, some start-ups have launched platforms that offer resources and support for women who want to propose, while others created inexpensive rings for proposing that allow couples to choose the perfect engagement ring at a later date together.
