It takes quite a bit of edge for something to merit the adjective ‘creepy’ these days as the outrageous stories we see and hear about in the media are more extreme than ever.

That being said, creepy innovations seem to fascinate us now more than freak us out. The following innovations have been made intentionally bizarre, freaky or slightly disturbing to enhance their appeal. Creepy is in. Try explaining that to grandma.

Implications - Consumers in modern society are looking for products that push the limits on conventionality. Designs that aren't usually deemed attractive appeal to shoppers who want to get in touch with different sides of themselves.
