Employee Voice Assistants

Walmart's Ask Sam Lets Employees Look Up Prices, Find Products & More

Walmart's Ask Sam is a new employee assistance voice technology that was created to assist with everything from finding products and providing store maps to sharing prices and sales information. Due to the timing of the launch of Ask Sam, the technology for store associates is also being used to share the latest COVID-19 information, especially as it pertains to the latest guidelines, guidance and safety videos.

Ask Sam was initially developed for use in Walmart-owned Sam’s Club stores, and as a voice tool, it helps associates quickly access information rather than having to interact with a small screen.

As well as being useful for helping associates support customers, Ask Sam supports team members with other tasks like printing, email and even viewing staff birthdays and events.
