Vayu drones are a healthcare system that could potentially expand the reach of modern medicine. Inhabitants of isolated rural communities have trouble receiving the same medical care that people in more urban areas receive, simply due to the fact that a lack of roads makes transit into and out of the area expensive and time-consuming. With Vayu drones, bringing advanced, illness-specific medical technologies to rural communities is no longer barred by roads or ground transit of any sort.
The drones are far larger than hobby drones in order to carry enough medicine across vast distances. Nonetheless, the technology of the drone itself is not much different than the unmanned aerial vehicles available on the market.
Currently, Vayu drones have been used to deliver healthcare technology to rural areas of Madagascar.
