Refugee Child Animated Stories

'Unfairy Tales' Reveal the Lives of Refugee and Migrant Children

UNICEF released a unique artistic series called Unfairy Tales that reveals the experiences of refugee and migrant children around the world.

The humanitarian and developmental assistance program created the series in order to make people more aware of the various issues that lead to men, women and children having to flee their homes. UNICEF estimates that there are currently 50 million children who are migrants or refugees as a result of conflict. Unfairy Tales reveals the stories of just two of those children, trying to make people understand the traumatic experiences and difficulties that these kids have faced in their short lifetimes.

Considering the rising backlash against refugees in many different countries, predominantly in Europe and North America, series such as Unfairy Tales aim to create more empathy and understanding in their viewers.
