The Company Tidal Wave Makes Clothing Out of Sea Animals

In a move towards creating sustainable and environmentally-friendly fashion, the company Tidal Wave makes clothing out of crab shells and leather.

The company makes two different sustainable materials that are used to make clothing and accessories. Chitoskin™ is an apparel line that "naturally crushes odor" and is made up of crab shells that would otherwise be discarded. The end result is clothing that is "antibacterial, antimicrobial, biodegradable and non-toxic." Tidal wave also makes accessories such as wallets, smartphone cases, belts and billfolds out of Alaskan salmon leather. The accessories which are available in various natural colors are from sustainable fisheries and have organic interiors.

This sustainable and eco-friendly fashion shows that it is possible to turn waste and sustainable processes into functional items.
