Amazon is Using Thermal Cameras to Screen Warehouse Employees

Amazon is now using thermal cameras in order to screen warehouse employees as a detection system for COVID-19. The thermal cameras are only being used at certain warehouse locations, and they are able to screen for COVID-19 by detecting elevated temperatures. If the thermal cameras detect an elevated temperature, the employee will then need to complete a thermometer check.

Amazon’s efforts to screen warehouse employees will ensure that it can remain operational, as it can protect warehouse facilities against potential outbreaks of the virus. This can be done by isolating any individuals who show symptoms of the virus. Amazon remaining operational is important as e-commerce is seeing higher than normal demand, due to contactless delivery systems.
