Amazon's Just Walk Out Technology Supports Seamless Checkouts

Amazon's new technology, dubbed Just Walk Out, is a new system making shopping seamless and easy for busy consumers. This new technology, which is currently available at 170 third-party locations, enables contact-free checkouts by analyzing what shoppers are picking up and walking out with. With this new system, shoppers do not have to converse with a store employee or even interact with a register. Notably, this shift reflects Amazon's greater goal of integrating its systems into facilities like hospitals, arenas, and corporate buildings.

β€œIt increases the accuracy of Just Walk Out technology even in complex shopping scenarios with variables such as camera obstructions, lighting conditions, and the behavior of other shoppers, while allowing us to simplify the system,” Jenkins wrote in a blog post.
