Japan-based studio Tato Architects designed the interior of a home in Osaka, that is a single room connected by multiple spiralling wooden steps.
By request of the client, the design team created a space to allow the family members to feel closer together, no matter where they are in the home. In this one-room home there are absolutely no private rooms or storage spaces, as the client wanted a fully open-concept design.
The two-storey dwelling is divided by using a series of floors that are dedicated functional zones. Each floor is connected by a series of spiralling wooden steps that are made in all different shapes and sizes.
