Seattle Team Wins Space Elevator Prize

Space elevators may seem like an invention for future generations, but the stellar lifts are already here. A team of engineers, called LaserMotive LLC, was rewarded a check for 900,000 dollars for their invention which “raced up more than 2,950 feet of cable dangling from a helicopter.”

Implications - Consumers have a strong inclination to transcend the boundaries of the every day. This stems from the hyper-rational order of city living that has repressed their imaginations. Companies can forge a deeper connection with these consumers by offering them unique opportunities to escape.
