Seafood cans come in several shapes and sizes, but the latest design from the Ardagh Group is intended to be the world's lightest to help decrease materials and shipping costs.
The shaped can, or "dingley" as it has been referred, features a thickness of just 0.17mm, which is down from the previous thickness of 0.215mm from a competitor.
Set to be available in 100g and 115g options, the seafood cans are sure to help make the efforts of food brands more sustainable in nature. According to Patrick Savouré, Commercial Director, Seafood for the Ardagh Group's metal division, the new design is already being praised by the brand's customers for being revolutionary. Consumers can expect to see the new can design popping up on store shelves soon enough.
