IKEA has launched Safer Homes, which is a safety initiative for furniture. The IKEA Safer Homes initiative has an app, a website, as well as workshops, that were all created to foster a safer environment. Specifically, IKEA stated that the project was launched in order to “create a safer life at home for families and children.”
On the Safer Homes app, users are able to create a checklist that is customized to their safety needs. Additionally, the app will outline steps users can take to improve safety in each of the rooms of a particular home. The IKEA Safer Homes app is available both on the App Store and Google Play, and the website is currently live. Additionally, workshops will be running from November until June 2020.
