'Runner Camp' Fuses Fitness with Retail in Shanghai

Runner Camp is a retail store fused with an urban athletics aesthetic that aims to encourage fitness and athleticism throughout the streets of Shanghai, China.

Visitors are met with a bold orange staircase that crosses the store diagonally. It's made with industrial materials like metal and concrete to provide a more outdoor feel that's often synonymous with gyms and outdoor workout areas. The bottom level features a retail store specializing in sporting goods, while the upper level is a fully functioning gym which includes a running track, an interactive exercise room, showers and lockers. Consumers are welcomed to utilize the Runner Camp facility from sunrise, to sunset.

The fusion between retail and fitness aims to enhance the role that fitness plays in our everyday lives, making it something as deeply integrated as shopping.
