Aloft Hotel's 'Botlr' Robot Butler Provides Efficient, Hi-Tech Service

The idea of a robot butler has been around for decades, appearing in cartoons and movies, but the high-tech Aloft Hotel in Cupertino is making this vision of the future a reality with its A.L.O. Botlr.

The Botler robot is designed as the hotel's new butler and it's been programmed to better serve guests and the hotel staff. The bot comes loaded with an interactive tablet and WiFi connections, so that the bot can even catch an elevator when it needs to roam free throughout the hotel. Botlr is capable of delivering toiletries to the doors of guests and rather than being startled by a robot at the door, patrons get an advance notice from Botler when he's outside their doors. Plus, rather than tipping the butler with real money, all the bot asks for is a tweet containing the #meetbotlr tag.
