The obvious benefits of isolated living quarters are the natural surroundings, and 'Rimrock' is an artfully designed home that offers spectacular views of the dense forests around Spokane, Washington. The home is nestled into the hills of a rural forest, though its modern design isn't what one would expect from what's essentially a country cottage.
From a design perspective, Rimrock is strikingly modern. It is primarily covered in either pre-rusted steel or glass, creating a juxtaposition of pure cleanliness and rugged roughness, and its upper story dramatically cantilevers out across a gap in the landscape. Not only is this cantilevering aesthetically appealing in and of itself, but it also provides an excellent view of the forests beyond.
