People often think about elementary education as a quest to master the three 'Rs', but this school design by 'richard+schoeller' shows that there's a lot more that children can gain during their early education. The elementary school outside of Paris features a rooftop garden that actually produces vegetable and plants, making it an interactive and natural way for students to learn about biology.
There are eight classrooms in the richard+schoeller-designed school, so it's a relatively small facility. In order to have the building still feature a garden, it's thus arranged along a single story. This maximizes the available space on the roof, giving the students and teachers plenty of room to experiment with the garden. Coupled with its interestingly angled floor plan, the building is a dynamic space for education.
