Retro Lingerie Editorials

This C-Heads Editorial Exposes the Underworld of 50s-Style Eroticism

This retro lingerie editorial, photographed by ALK&K, explores Prohibition-era sexuality.

The late 50's did not, by any means, offer the freedom of sexual expression. By virtue of it being such a taboo subject, sexuality was mysterious, something left unexplored; it was relegated to a dark, smoky underbelly. This editorial parts "the secretive red curtain," revealing that underbelly and featuring two retro-styled women brave enough to explore their own bodies and erotic impulses. The girls sprawl out over a leather burgundy couch, dressed in webbed garter belts, suspenders, stilettos and high-waisted panties.

The team consisted of models Emma Atkins and Penelope Simpson, stylist Joseph Crone, makeup artist Khandiz and hair stylist Atsushi, who came together to perfect this "outlawed" aesthetic.
