Intel has gone ahead and announced the introduction of a truly high-tech and unquestionably revolutionary standalone VR headset that is dubbed Project Alloy.

What makes this VR headset so special is the fact that it offers a wide array of immersive experiences that are classed in a new category that Intel calls 'merged reality'. This particular VR headset is capable of mapping out your surrounding environment before adding a layer of virtual reality. This means that you can physically move around to interact with your virtual surroundings, but can still see real-life objects near you.

The headset also makes it possible for users to enhance their VR experience by way of gesture control, but without having to rely on any sort of physical controller.

This VR headset is a truly incredible invention and one that could be particularly popular in the gaming sector.
