In just three months of operation, the x-rated version of YouTube has broken into the web's list of the Top 200 sites. Is this driven by the $1.4 billion sale of YouTube, or just the perversity of human nature. This shocking growth has been noted by several major tech blogs. As a note, Alexa's list is considered the most accurate ranking of traffic on the web.
Implications - While social media is a powerful source on the web, pornographic materials also run rampant. It seems that the age-old "sex sells" sentiment is not going to go away anytime soon, so appealing to primal instincts is an easy way to garner attention from the public.
