Dozens of vegan and non-vegan brands are now launching their own plant-based burger patty products to keep up with the growing demands of vegetarian, vegan and flexitarian consumers who are looking for healthful, plant-powered alternatives to meat. While there have been a few innovative plant-based patties launched to satisfy the mainstream, Vivera recently launched its Veggie Quarter Pounder as an alternative to Angus beef. The high-protein Veggie Quarter Pounder is a source of fiber and it is fortified with B12.
When Vivera's plant-based vegan steak debuted in supermarkets, it sold a record 40,000 units in just a few days. As Vivera's commercial director Gert Jan Gomber says, "We expect a large market potential for our ‘Veggie Quarter Pounder’ due to its superior taste and structure. The smell, taste, and bite can hardly be distinguished from an Aberdeen Angus beef burger."
