Weird Pizza Merchandise

A Line of Pizza Pops Merch Plays on the Pillsbury's "Weird Good" Branding

In an effort to reach its demographic of teen consumers through a new medium, Pillsbury announced a new line of Pizza Pops merchandise.

Taking advantage of the brand's "weird good" branding, the pieces spotlight strange imagery, like the roof of a mouth along with the phrase "Wreckin' Mouths Since '64," or a microwave that sits atop a muscular man's bare legs. Simple black and white pieces are also included in the lineup, featuring microwave screen prints and repeated "weird good" slogans. The Pizza Pops merchandise lines up well with the brand's recent advertising campaigns, which feature a microwave-headed teen who finds himself in awkward scenarios—which include having "the talk" with his dad, and navigating an uncomfortable date.
