The Côté Dock Housing complex by Philippe Dubus Architectes is located on the Seine estuary, the second largest port in France.
Celebrating asymmetry, this linear structure boasts a minimalist design aesthetic and features three stacked forms. The rectilinear volumes are layered atop one another to reveal remote edges and shadows that are the result of the building's lack of perfect symmetry.
Philippe Dubus Architectes' latest project consists of 65 dwellings that are set to revitalize its neighbourhood. The housing units "pay tribute to their industrial surroundings" and feature simplistic facades that rely on little or no ornamentation.
Perforated steel panels cover the facades of each structure and add visual interest to the individual buildings. Despite of numerous budget constraints, this newly-built community boasts an elegant and modern design.
